Parameters

External data is ingested into XLAONE as parameters. These can be bound to metrics, to make sure experiences are based on real data.

Parameters represent data from external systems. Their type of data is generally categorized into eXperience, Technical and Operational data.

Adding Parameters to an Experience

To include real data inside an experience we should add parameters to our metrics. After creating at least one phase, component and metric, we can connect our metric to a parameter. Once a metric has been added, the system tells us it’s not complete by a warning icon:

The red blinking icon indicates where you must click to resolve this warning. Upon clicking the Configure Metric button, the following dialog is opened:

Click the Select button inside the Parameter box. This will open another dialog showing a selection of parameters available in your XLAONE instance. If no parameters are available now, please make sure your administrator has set up one or more metric sources correctly.
